PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic surgical instrument which can more easily reduce or restrain unnecessary vibrations. SOLUTION: A vibration absorbing tool 42 is mounted in the position equivalent to a node portion of a vibration as a required vibration of a horn 40. The vibration absorbing tool 42 has elastic annuluses 52 which hold the external surface of the horn 40 in the node portion of the vibration, and a stiff cylindrical body 50 which is arranged in the space between the outside periphery of the horn 40 and butts against the outside periphery of the elastic annuluses 52. The vibration absorbing tool 42 functions as a so-called balancer and absorbs a transverse vibration as an unnecessary vibration. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
