The invention relates to a drive device for a sliding door (1), which drive device has a drive unit (3) mounted in a stationary manner and comprising a motor (8) and a pinion (7), and also a rack (6) fixed in a desired position on the sliding door (1). In order to actuate the sliding door (1), the pinion (7) is mounted in a working position in which the pinion (7) is in engagement with the rack (6). To install the rack (6) on the sliding door (1), the pinion (7) can be placed into an adjustment position located below the working position. In the adjustment position, a spacer sits at least on a subregion of the teeth of the pinion (7), with the outside of the spacer forming a sliding surface for the rack (6) and being at a distance from the centre of the pinion (7) that is matched to the difference in position of the pinion (7) in the working position and in the adjustment position. In order to set the desired position of the rack (6), the latter rests on the sliding surface of the spacer. |
