A method for obtaining conjugated estrogen mixtures from pregnant mare urine and the use of a macroporous resin used in the method.Said method comprises (1) pre-treating raw pregnant mare urine, (2) absorbing conjugated estrogen mixtures from pregnant mare urine on a macroporous resin, (3) treating the macroporous resin loaded with conjugated estrogen mixtures in a basic aqueous solution, and (4) eluting and obtaining conjugated estrogen mixtures from the macroporous resin, wherein the macroporous resin is a medium polar macroporous adsorbent resin which has ester group and polystyrene-diethylene unit.
