<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner density adjusting device and a toner density adjusting method for appropriately adjusting density by accurately detecting the density of a reference toner image formed on an image carrier means regardless of the fluctuation of output from a sensor caused by change with the lapse of time on the image carrier means or the variation of sensitivity of the sensor caused by a machine difference. <P>SOLUTION: The toner density adjusting device 84 is provided in an image forming apparatus where a toner image carried on the image carrier means is transferred to a recording medium, is equipped with a toner density sensor 80 detecting the density based on reflected light quantity from the reference toner image carried on the image carrier means 51, and a toner density adjusting means 84 adjusting so that the density of the reference toner image may be the predetermined one based on an output value from the toner density sensor 80, and is equipped with a correction means for correcting the output value from the toner density sensor 80 based on the image density of the reference toner image transferred and fixed on the recording medium. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
