<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device the contrast ratio of which is enhanced. <P>SOLUTION: The display device is provided with a first polarizing plate stacked structure where a plurality of polarizing plates are stacked outside a first light-transmissive substrate and their axes of absorption are arranged in a cross nicol state, and a second polarizing plate stacked structure where a plurality of polarizing plates are stacked outside a second light-transmissive substrate and their axes of absorption are arranged in a cross nicol state, and the axes of absorption of the polarizing plates of the first polarizing plate stacked structure and the axes of absorption of the polarizing plates of the second polarizing plate stacked structure are arranged in a cross nicol state. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
