<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To mitigate the load for a user to set up a wireless LAN. <P>SOLUTION: An access point broadcasts a probe request to a printer 20, based respectively on a plurality of connection methods (requests). The probe request is received by the printer in which the same connection method is set (request 32). The printer sets up the connection method specified by the probe request, namely, the same connection method as that set up at the access point. Since the printer and the access point set up the same connection method in this way, wireless connection is established between the both. Thus, since the connection method to the access point is automatically set up in the printer via the reception of the probe request, the load for the user with respect to setting up a wireless LAN is markedly reduced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
