PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an ink cartridge in which the manufacturing method is easy and the ink is steadily fed. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of an ink cartridge 10 feeding ink into an inkjet recording device through the ink supply needle of the inkjet recording device comprises the steps of: carrying out the integral molding of a container body 12 having an approximately rectangular parallelepiped shape including an ink supply surface 18 allotting an ink supply passage 16 inserted with the ink supply needle, wherein height h of a side 26 being approximately orthogonal with the ink supply surface is longer than at least one width w of the ink supply surface 18 and one of the sides is an opening plane 28 opening in the direction of the width w; pressing a side portion near the ink supply surface 18 of a porous material 20 against a crimping section 22 prepared parallel with the ink supply surface 18; inserting the porous material 20 from the opening plane 28 of the container body 12; and encapsulating the opening plane 28 of the container body 12 inserted with the porous material 20 by a lid body 14.
