PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a head protection cap, a head suction cap and a head cleaning blade of an inkjet recording device detachably equipped with a maintenance recovery unit of a recording head from being smudged and damaged with a simple configuration. SOLUTION: A sensor for detecting the presence or absence of a small cover 201 is installed inside a device body 1. The drive control of the maintenance recovery unit 121 is performed by detecting it that the small cover 201 has been removed, and then the maintenance recovery unit 121 is removed from a side plate 202. When the small cover 201 is absent due to removing, the protection cap 122 for protecting the recording head 24 is lowered. Thereby, the recording head can be protected from being smudged or damaged due to hitting the head protection cap and others which are essential parts against the recording head side when a service man removes the maintenance recovery unit 121 from the device body 1 for exchanging, while the head protection cap and others can also be protected from being smudged or damaged.
