PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display device so made to prevent bus electrodes from infiltrating into a discharge space by forming them in a narrower width in order to decrease a panel static capacity, and giving substantial margins for them in due consideration of errors in an alignment process. SOLUTION: The plasma display device is provided with a first electrode formed on an upper substrate, and barrier ribs formed on a lower substrate opposed to the upper one for partitioning discharge spaces, and the first electrode is not to be superposed on the discharge spaces.
