PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device that allows easy replacement of an explosion-proof body alone, the explosion-proof body being provided for preventing broken pieces of a discharge lamp from scattering to the outside when the discharge lamp has burst. SOLUTION: The light source device has a spheroidal concave mirror 21 surrounding the discharge lamp and having a covered opening. In the concave mirror 21, there are provided an air hole 41a for letting air in, and the explosion-proof body 8 for preventing broken pieces of the discharge lamp from scattering to the outside through the air hole 41a when the discharge lamp has burst.
