PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the effect of revolution jitters when carrying out self-writing of a pattern on a turning medium. SOLUTION: Various patterns are first written on a track TO. The even-numbered patterns are made NORMAL patterns and the odd-numbered patterns FLIP patterns. Reading each NORMAL pattern on the track TO with a read element 121, another FLIP pattern is written on the Track TN when Dw time has elapsed after reading. When the NORMAL pattern N_[i] is read, the reading time expected for the NORMAL pattern N_[i+1] is calculated. The expected time is decided to correct the revolution jitters by the sum of the coefficient applied to the integrated term, the proportional term, and the difference term of the timing error (tes) between the reading time of the NORMAL pattern already read and the expected time.
