RAPID ELISA

A step in the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) is changed from a heterogeneous phase to a homogeneous phase, to give a much shorter overall completion time. The new assay comprises the steps of (i) mixing in a homogeneous phase a sample and a first binding partner to an analyte to form a first mixing product; and (ii) exposing the first mixing product to a second binding partner to the analyte.
