<p>An object of the present invention is to solve problems of a drop of the maximum voltage, miniaturization and economization of an overvoltage protecting device, etc. at the same time. The overvoltage protecting device is provided with more than three discharging units serially connected between two electrical conductors. urther, more than two clumping type overvoltage protecting units are connected in parallel with the discharging units except more than one discharging units. However, an overall operational voltage of the discharging units connected in parallel with all of the clumping type overvoltage protecting units is set to be lower than a voltage resulted from subtracting a discharging voltage of the other discharging units connected in parallel with the clumping type overvoltage protecting units from an operational voltage of each clumping type overvoltage protecting unit. The overall operational voltage of the discharging units connected in parallel with the all of the clumping type overvoltage protecting units is set to be higher than an operational voltage of each discharging unit connected in series with one of the clumping type overvoltage protecting units from an operational voltage of each clumping type.</p> |
