<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a two-wheel vehicle detecting device which widely and more accurately detects a two-wheel vehicle than before without the influence of an environmental variation, and also provide a signal control system provided with the two-wheel vehicle detecting device, a two-wheel vehicle detecting system provided with the two-wheel vehicle detecting device, a two-wheel vehicle detecting method, and a computer program for realizing the two-wheel vehicle detecting device. <P>SOLUTION: A CPU 28 computes angle differences of movement vectors of pixels of a picked-up image, determines whether the computed angle differences are not larger than a threshold value, and identifies a connection block which is formed by connecting adjacent pixels whose computed angle differences are not larger than the threshold value. The CPU 28 computes the longitudinal size and lateral size of the connection block based on the coordinates of the identified connection block on the picked-up image and then determines whether the longitudinal size is larger than the lateral size. When the longitudinal size is larger than the lateral size, a moving object corresponding to the connection block is detected as a two-wheel vehicle. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
