<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively use slag containing CaO and Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>in large quantities as a raw material of calcium aluminate. <P>SOLUTION: One type of calcium aluminate is manufactured by using slag containing ≥40 mass% total mass of a CaO component and a Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>component, and a CaO source and/or a Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>source as raw materials. The other type of calcium aluminate is manufactured by using slag, which contains ≥40 mass% total mass of the CaO component and the Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>component and has ≤15 mass% MgO content, and the CaO source and/or the Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>source as raw materials. Alumina cement contains any of these types of calcium aluminate. A monolithic refractory contains alumina cement and a refractory aggregate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
