PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an authentication agent device capable of exchanging authentication processing between an image processing device and a plurality of authentication services even when there are a plurality of authentication services. SOLUTION: This authentication agent device authenticating a user using a composite machines 11a-11l is provided with an authentication mediating server 12. When a request for authentication processing about use of a composite machine by a user is received from the composite machines 11a-11l, the authentication mediating server 12 mediates authentication processing between a matching authentication server among a plurality of authentication servers 13a-13m different in protocol and the composite machines 11a-11l. In this way, authentication processing can be exchanged between the composite machine 11 and a plurality of authentication services 13a-13m even when there are a plurality of authentication services.
