<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To speed up a response of a TN type liquid crystal panel when a driving voltage is OFF. <P>SOLUTION: The TN type liquid crystal panel 37 comprises first and second transparent substrates 45 and 46, an element electrode 47, a common electrode 48, first and second polarizers 50 and 51, first and second alignment films 56 and 57, spherical spacers 59, and nematic liquid crystal 60. Liquid crystal having a natural twist pitch of 4.5μm is used as the nematic liquid crystal 60. The spherical spacers 59 of≤2.0μm in diameter are arranged between both the substrates 45 and 46 to adjust the layer thickness of the nematic liquid crystal 60 to≤2.0μm. The first and second alignment films 56 and 57 are subjected to alignment processing so that liquid crystal molecules 64 of the nematic liquid crystal 60 are twisted and aligned at a twist angle of 70°. Consequently, the response of the TN type liquid crystal panel 37 when the driving voltage is OFF can be made quick. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
