PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid development device, capable of supplying uniform liquid toner, and to provide a wet-type image forming apparatus provided with the liquid developing device. SOLUTION: A development device 6, provided to a printer, comprises a tank for storing liquid toner; a pickup roller 10 for drawing up the liquid toner from the tank; an application roller 11, having a peripheral surface 11a to which the liquid toner is supplied from the pick-up roller 10; and a developing roller, having a peripheral surface 12a to which the liquid toner is applied by the application roller 11. The pick-up roller 10 and the application roller 11 are arranged in parallel to each other, and the peripheral surfaces 10a, 11a are abutted mutually against each other. Furthermore, a plurality of spiral grooves 13, 14 continuously extending in an axial direction X1 are formed on the peripheral surfaces 10a, 11a of the pick-up roller 10 and the application roller 11.
