A variable spring unit of a suspension apparatus is provided to improve both the riding comfort and the traveling stability by varying the spring constant of a strut. In a variable spring unit of a suspension apparatus, guide holes(4a) are formed on both side surfaces of a lower arm(4) in the longitudinal direction of the lower arm. A guide hole(4b) is also formed at an upper portion of the lower arm. The lower end of a strut(6) is inserted into the guide hole formed at the upper portion of the lower arm and is coupled with the lower arm by an coupling bolt(7). The lower end of the strut has a circular shape. The coupling bolt is inserted into the guide hole formed on the side surface of the lower arm and is guided through the guide hole. When the position of the coupling bolt is varied, the spring constant of the strut is varied. |
