<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processor and a program updating method for quickly updating programs. <P>SOLUTION: A compressed program stored in a first storage means is expanded in a second storage means. Execution of the program expanded in the second storage means is started. An update program for updating the program stored in the first storage means is obtained.
