PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Japanese input method of a mobile device which reduces input time and enables any user to use it simply and easily. SOLUTION: In the Japanese input method of a mobile device which enables Japanese input by assigning hiragana characters (Japanese syllabary character) to keys, the characters of "A" row in the respective columns of hiragana excluding "A" column are assigned to the respective keys and characters of "A" column are assigned to the respective keys. Characters of "A" row of respective columns, and characters of "A" column are made to be inputted by pressing once the respective keys assigned to these characters. The characters of the respective columns excluding "A" column of rows of "I", "U", "E", or "O" are made to be inputted by pressing the keys to which the characters of "A" row of the respective columns where the characters concerned belong are assigned, and the keys to which the characters of the "A" column of the same row of that of the characters concerned are assigned simultaneously, or by pressing them overlappingly or by pressing one long and another short continuously.
