PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid level sensor that can ensure high detection accuracy, even if an overload acts on the arm. SOLUTION: The liquid level sensor 10 is provided with a frame 11 fixed to a liquid container, the arm 12 which has a base end part rotatably and axially supported by the frame, which is bent into an L-shape and extends from the base end part to the surface of the frame 11, and in which a float 13 floating on the liquid surface is attached to the tip part, and an encoder 14, which is attached to the base end part of the arm 12 and which has a rotor that corotates with the base end part with the displacement of the liquid surface. The frame 11 includes main stoppers 17, 18 erected on the surface and abutting on the arm 12 so as to define the pivotal range of the arm 12, and an accommodation part 23 accommodating the rotor of the encoder 14. The accommodation part 23 and the rotor of the encoder 14 are provided with auxiliary stoppers 26, 28 abutting against each other, when the arm 12 is pivoted, slightly exceeding the pivotal range to regulate the pivoting of the arm 12.
