PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recorder which can carry out highly precise image recording by preventing wrinkles and floating of a recording medium from generating even when drying or curing reaction of ink is promoted by applying heat energy to the recording medium. SOLUTION: The inkjet recorder 1 is equipped with both a heating mechanism which applies the heat energy to the recording medium 2, and a recording head 13 which delivers ink whose drying or curing reaction is promoted by applying the heat energy to the recording medium 2. The inkjet recorder 1 is equipped with a drum rotary body 5 which supports the recording medium 2, holding mechanisms 10a and 10b which hold the recording medium 2 on the drum rotary body 5, and a control part 20 which controls the heating mechanism to apply the heat energy to the recording medium 2 after the holding mechanisms 10a and 10b hold the recording medium 2, and also controls the holding mechanisms 10a and 10b to release at least partially the recording medium 2 from the holding after the heat energy is applied to the recording medium 2 and to hold the recording medium again.
