The device has a swivel plate (18) including a reflective partial surface on a side (22), and a transmitter (30) and a receiver (36) are provided. The transmitter transmits a light impulse, which is directed to the plate in a continuous sequence manner. The light impulse of the transmitters that is reflected by the reflective partial surface is transmitted by a light conducting device (38), which is arranged between the transmitter and the plate. The receiver is guided on the light conducting device. An independent claim is also included for a method of evaluating a signal of an opto-electronic device.
