A reduction gear of an electric power steering system is provided to allow a retainer to support a worm gear and to prevent rattle noise between the worm gear and a worm wheel. A reduction gear of an electric power steering system includes a reduction gear housing, a worm gear(4), a worm wheel, and a retainer(20). The worm gear is rotatably installed in the reduction gear housing to be rotated by a motor. The worm wheel is enmeshed with the worm gear. The retainer is installed between the worm gear and the reduction gear housing in the radial direction of the worm gear. The retainer supports the worm gear with a resilient force. The retainer includes an inner ring engaged with the worm gear, an outer ring located on the radial outer side of the inner ring and engaged with the reduction gear housing, and a bridge interposed between the outer ring and the inner ring.
