A mobile terminal and a method for checking an incoming call in an EV-DO(Evolution-Data Only) service are provided to prevent an unnecessary call or message reception by allowing a user to select whether to receive the call by displaying a caller ID when a call signal is received. An EV-DO communicating unit(260) processes an EV-DO service. A preliminary call signal communicating unit(280) receives a paging channel only while the EV-DO service is being provided. When there is a call request signal of a person in the paging channel during the EV-DO service, a service conversion unit(230) displays whether to accept the call request. When acceptance of the call request is selected, the service conversion unit stops the EV-DO service and connects a mobile terminal to a call signal service. A call signal communicating unit(270) processes the call signal service according to the connected call signal service.
