1417183 Detergent bars UNILEVER Ltd 26 Jan 1973 [28 Jan 1972] 4180/72 Heading C5D A detergent bar for use in personal washing comprises (A) from 20 to 55% by wt. of a watersoluble lactate salt with optional partial replacement of the lactate by a water-soluble glutamate salt, provided that the lactate is present in at least 10% by wt.; and (B) 45 to 80% by wt. soap and/or synthetic detergent surfactant and additives known for use in a detergent bar. The salts are alkali metal, ammonium or alkanolamine salts. The synthetic surfactants may be anionic, nonionic, cationic or amphateric, e.g. sodium coconut isethionate; mixtures of sodium coconut isethionate with C 10 -C 18 fatty acids; mixtures of sodium coconut isethionate with stearic acid, sodium tallow soap, sodium dodecyl benzene sulphonate and sodium isethionate. Other moisturizing agents such as 2-pyrrolidone- 5-carboxylic acid and its salts, hydrolysed proteins and salts of N-acetyl glycine may be present. |
