Distributed control system with manifold mounted controller

A distributed hydraulic system locates a control assembly of bridge connected electrohydraulic valves 61-64 and electronic controller 55 adjacent the actuator controlled thereby. The assembly includes manifold block 80 with through pump 92 and tank 94 passages and actuator work ports 66, 68 and bores 95-98 for the electrohydraulic valves at opposite ends of the block. Pressure ports 120,122 are provided to sense pressure at different locations therein. A controller housing contains the controller and pressure sensors for each pressure port and is mounted against the block so that each sensor connects to a pressure port. The manifold block also has a pair of exterior walls 112, 114 that on opposites sides of the controller housing to protect the controller. An inlet check valve 65 and work port pressure relief valves 74, 78 may be mounted in the block along with a manual workport drain valve 75.
