An active steering device is provided to increase the spatial availability of an engine room by locating a steering unit at a portion of a rack. An active steering device includes a steering column(53), a first rack(55), a second rack(57), a first gear, and a worm gear. The first rack is connected to an end of the steering column. The second rack is installed on one side of the first rack. The right/left movement of the second rack is restricted and the rotation thereof is free. The second rack is inserted into the first rack and is moved left and right when the second gear is rotated. The first gear is engaged with the upper side of the second gear. The worm gear is engaged with the first gear and is driven by a motor.
