A cathode ray tube is provided to optimize a taper-out design of slots by widening a deflective angle of an electron beam equal to or more than 120 degrees. A shadow mask having a plurality of slots is formed between an electron gun and a screen. Electron beams penetrate the slots. A deflective angle of the electron beam is equal to or more than 120 degrees. The slots of the shadow mask satisfy a condition of To_X>=40 micrometers where a taper opposite to a center of the shadow mask is To and a length of To in a long axis direction(X) of the shadow mask is To_X on the basis of an incident line of the electron beam.
