摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical device with optical fiber diffraction gratings capable of reducing the stress generated at the boundary between an optical fiber and a base material without providing the device with an intermediate layer consisting of fresh material. SOLUTION: Projecting parts 14 having a prescribed height are formed as fixing parts for fixing the optical fiber 11 formed with the diffraction grating parts at both ends of the base material 10. The optical fiber 11 is fixed by adhesive 15 to the projecting parts 14. Gaps 16 are formed at a volume fraction in a range of 0.1 to 80%, for example, 40%, are formed in the projecting parts 14. The gaps 16 are formed as apertures over a prescribed range (A) from fixing surfaces 14 for fixing the exposed portions 12 of the projecting parts 14. The prescribed range (A) is so set as to be longer than the length (B) at which the epoxy resin of the adhesive 15 penetrates from the fixing surface. The sizes of the gaps 16 are so set as to be smaller than the sizes of the fillers included in the adhesive 15.
