A controlling apparatus and a method for retransmission on a MAC(Media Access Control) protocol to reduce data transmission delay are provided to improve a entire network performance by reducing transmission delay in a transmitter. A controlling method for retransmission on a MAC(Media Access Control) protocol to reduce data transmission delay includes the steps of: transmitting data with the present receiver, and monitoring whether the transmission is successful or not; if the data transmission to the present receiver is failed, reserving the transmission to the failed receiver, and performing the first step for the next receiver; if the data transmission to the present receiver is succeeded, checking whether there is any receiver with reserved transmission, and performing the first step for the next receiver if there is no receiver with reserved transmission.
