METHOD FOR ACCESS MANAGING OF HETEROGENEOUS NETWORK AND APPARATUS THEREOF

A heterogeneous network access management method and apparatus are provided to improve QoS(Quality of Service) of a mobile communication network by minimizing delay or interruption of a streaming service when a mobile terminal performs vertical handoff. An application program for performing a streaming service is registered(S100). When a network in which the registered application program is used is changed, a channel is formed at a visited network to be newly connected(S110). When a channel is formed at the visited network, a registered application program is checked and an event which includes information including a bandwidth of the visited network is informed to the checked registered application program, a home agent requests a foreign agent to perform an MIP(Mobile IP) registration process, and vertical handoff is completed upon receiving a corresponding response(S120,S130).
