<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing system and method making it possible to make a display image directly reflect an operator's sense, while keeping the behavior and number of operators from being limited in excess, eliminating the necessity of position movements for operations even when the system is applied to a large screen, and making it possible to view the entire screen. <P>SOLUTION: The image processing system includes a means/step for recognizing the illuminating light applied to a display surface on which the display image is displayed, and a means/step for subjecting the display image to a predetermined process according to information about the illuminating light recognized. The range to which the operator applies the illuminating light is subjected to the predetermined process.
