Minimising interference between RFID readers

An RFID reader system 100 for controlling operations of multiple RFID readers 11-16 is provided to minimise radio interference between the RFID readers 11-16. When a new RFID reader 11 connects to the system 100, the system 100 calculates probabilities of radio interference between the new RFID reader 11 and already connected RFID readers 12-16 and creates a radio interference logical operation list using the calculated radio interference probabilities. When a request is made to activate the new RFID reader 11, the system 100 compares the created radio interference logical operation list with a list of currently running RFID readers and decides whether or not to activate the new RFID reader 11 based on the comparison.
