A load break switch is provided to drive a switching unit and an extinction unit by elastic force of springs compressed/expanded automatically and manually, and to reduce fabrication cost by improving an operating mechanism for driving the extinction unit. In a nozzle part for a clamp, a first port(2) and a second port(3) are fixed to a base frame(F) through first insulators(5) and second insulators(4), and the first port includes a hinge part and supports a conductor bar where an arc bar is fixed, and the second port is inserted to the front of the arc bar. An operation axis(9) crossing between the first port and the second port is supported in the base frame. The other end of an insulation bar(10) is fixed to the operation axis by intervening a link pin to the front of an operation lever. An operation apparatus(200) includes a switching unit(300) and an extinction unit(400) connected to the operation axis. The switching unit includes a mechanism connecting one end and the other end by releasing a locking state of a spring by the driving force of a motor(20) and releasing the connection between one end and the other end by releasing the locking state of a trip spring(29b). The extinction unit includes a mechanism absorbing air around the other end and injecting the absorbed air toward the other end.
