The semiconductor laser has an external resonator (7), and a pump radiation source (9) for supplying pump radiation (10) to a quantum layer structure (2) with a Bragg reflector (5). The Bragg reflector includes layers which are arranged aperiodically with respect to each other, so that the pump radiation is absorbed within the quantum layer structure.
