METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DETECTIONING THE STATUS OF VEHICLE

A vehicle state detecting device and a method thereof are provided to immediately inform the abnormal state by a cellular phone secured through authentication between a telematics terminal and a service center and to continuously trace the state of a vehicle by allowing a user to manage position information and image information until the abnormal state is solved. A vehicle state detecting device(100) is composed of a vehicle state sensing unit(110) for detecting the inner or outer state of a vehicle through a sensor or an RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) and judging whether the detected state of the vehicle is out of a range of a pre-set critical value or not; an information collecting unit(120) for periodically receiving the position information and image information of the vehicle through an image photographing device installed in the vehicle or a GPS(Global Positioning System), if the detected state of the vehicle is out of the range of the pre-set critical value; and a transmitting unit(130) for periodically transmitting the received position information and image information.
