A security robot and a security method using the same are provided to enable an intelligent robot operated in a home to communicate with a remote user by constructing a sensor network in the home. A database(210) stores position information of an area installed with each sensor having a unique ID number. A receiver(220) receives a message including the unique ID number from the sensor when change is detected in the area installed with the sensor. A camera(230) captures the area by moving to the area in which the change is detected based on the received unique ID number. A communicator(240) transmits a captured image to a predetermined terminal(250). The receiver receives the message through a ZigBee module(221).
