An oil ring for a piston of an internal combustion engine for reducing the consumption of oil is provided to realize the advantage of an oil control of a conventional three piece oil ring by a two piece oil ring. In an oil ring for a piston of an internal combustion engine for reducing the consumption of oil, an outer sealing section and a side sealing section are formed at the front and rear ends of an upper rail(10) and a lower rail(12). The upper rail and the lower rail are pivotally connected to each other. A circumferential pipe(14) is inserted into a piston oil ring mounting recess. A coil spring(16) is embedded in the circumferential pipe so as to push the rear surfaces of the upper rail and the lower rail. The rear surfaces of the upper and lower rails have V-shaped contact recesses.
