An atmospheric pressure detecting apparatus of an engine is provided to continuously detect an accurate atmospheric pressure without increasing costs, and thus to appropriately correct the atmospheric pressure. An atmospheric pressure detecting apparatus of an engine(1) measures the pressure of an intake pipe by using an intake pipe pressure sensor(11), and uses, as an atmospheric pressure value, the average value of the pressures of the intake pipe during a predetermined time period, if the pressure value of the intake pipe falls between the lowest and the highest pressure value during a predetermined time period and the variation of the pressure of the intake pipe is lower than the predetermined limit value of the pressure variation during a predetermined time period. |
