An apparatus used to guide the yarn to a circular warp knitter, partic. in the mfr. of tubular packaging material, has the warps manipulated to give a fringed or looped fabric structure, with the yarn guide for each knitting needle mounted to a rotating toothed wheel. The drive for this wheel is taken from a constantly rotating drive wheel with internal and external teeth which are mounted in a common housing. The drive is advanced by at least the interval between needles by a reversible inching control mechanism. The design si effected at high operating speeds, increasing the productivity of a circular warp knitter.
