A multi stage turbo compressor having rotors arrayed in a sequential series in the flow direction, and attached to two or more drive shafts which run parallel to each other in such a way that the drive shafts are driven by a common gear wheel through a pinion or bevel gear and such that the shats revolve at different velocities. Constructed in such that one pair of rotors (2, 4 and 6, 8) on eac bevel gear shaft are attached by means of facings or backings to the side of the system nearest the drive.
