The pallet shelving can be adapted to the floor surface and loading gear by means of an adjustment mechanism which can be fitted to the shelving uprights. This adjustment mechanism can be in the form of a base plate (1) acting as a pressure distributor plate which matches the forces from the loading of the shelves to the permissible values of the ground. An adjustment bolt (2) in the form of a threaded bolt can be connected to the base plate (1) whilst the adjustment nut (3) brings the shelving uprights (4) into the correct position. The sealing plate (5) of the column rests on the adjustment nut and the column is secured in positions by a lock nut. The shelving can thereby be lined up with the floor and the fork-lift loading gear rather than vice versa.
