A process for producing a laminar component (12) especially a vehicle component, comprises applying a removable protective film (22) onto the film section (16) of the laminate. Film uneven sections and irregularities (24) are removed by grinding, and then the film is placed in a mould where a foam is applied. The film consists of a thermoplastic, especially a double layered coextrusion film. The film section with the protective film is heated and plastically deformed. Glass fibres (20) are applied to the liquid foam material during foaming.
