A method for providing a differential data service by setting a service use level of an MPEG-4 BIFS(BINARY FORMAT FOR SCENE) is provided to differentially offer an MPEG-4 data service to a user by setting a level to node decoding of the BIFS included in an MPEG-4 bit stream according to the service use level of the user. The service use level changing the MPEG-4 BIFS node decoding by each user is set. When an MPEG-4 BIFS data service connection is requested from a user terminal, authentication information of the user is checked(202). If the authentication information of the user is confirmed, service use level information of the user is converted into a network transmission format of the connected user terminal and the converted information is transmitted to the user terminal(203). The user terminal differentially performs the BIFS node decoding according to a BIFS node decoding level according to the service use level information(206). The service use level information is set based on a billing system of the user.
