The ankle lever catch strap for skis is made in two parts. On one end of the catch strap (1) is riveted a convex base plate on which is fixed at right angles a cylindrical catch-piece (5) with a conical leading end (8) on whose base is an angled shoulder (9) leading to a narrow holder (10). The second strap (2) has a housing (21, 22) in which are located two parallel spring rods welded together at one end (15) and located by means of the two housing-fixing screws. The cylindrical catch piece (5) is pushed through the hole (23) in the housing so that it passes between the spring rods so that the rods locate in the narrow portion of the catch-piece behind the shoulder (9). The catch is opened by pulling the catch out of the spring housing aided by the angled surface behind the shoulder. The spring rods can be replaced by spring plates, each having a round notch in the centre to catch behind the catch-piece shoulder.
