In a constructional element, particularly for use in a window or door or a solar heating device, comprising two plane and uniformly spaced boundary surfaces pref. of glass or plastic, at least one of which is transparent or translucent, the interspace is evacuated and the two surfaces are supported locally opposite to each other by support elements, particularly cylinders, with their axes perpendicular to the surface or spherically shaped elements, especially evacuated hollow spheres. Provides window or door double glazing of very high insulating capacity as well as an insulating chamber for a solar radiation absorbing element.
