(A) Polyurethane compsns are stabilised against discolouration and decompsn by light by a stabiliser contg. >=3 structural units of the formula (I) between two aliphatically bound C atoms. R1 = H or CH3; R2 is 1 to 6 C alkyl, opt. substd by -OH, -CN or - CONH2 gps and opt. interrupted by -O- where R3 = H or as for R2 above, or R2 and R3 jointly may form a 5- or 6-membered heterocycle ring. (B) Stabiliser comprising a polyaddition and/or copolyaddition-condensation product of m wt 300-20000 is also claimed prepd by reacting (a) bi-secondary aliphatic amines of formula: R2-NH-M-NH-R3 (M, is opt. substd. alkylene or chain with (hydro) aromatic ring contg. one or more tert N or O atoms) and (b) acrylic and/or methacrylic acid esters of the formula: CH2 = C(R1)-COO-R6 (where R1 = H or CH3; and R6 = 1 to 12 C alkyl, pref, 2 to 4 C alkyl) and/or (c) N,N'-alkylenebisacrylamides and/or N,N'-alkylenebismethacry-lamides of formula (in which R1 is as above, R3 and R4 are 1 to 6 C alkyl, opt. substd by OH, CN or - CONH2, or opt. interrupted by -O-. or R3 and R4 jointly may represent a 5- or 6-membered ring; Y is an opt. substd. 1 to 6 C alkylene radical), and/or (d) alkylene-bisacrylic and/or alkylenebismethacrylic acid esters of the formula: CH2=C(R1)-COO-Z-OCO-C(R1)=CH2 (where z is opt. substd 2-6 C alkylene).
