A remote power control method in a distributed communication system and an apparatus for the same are provided to improve intelligence of the system by enabling multiplexed control system boards to control power of the other boards in a remote place without using their internal power switches. A distributed communication system comprises a plurality of control system boards(101,106,119), a back board(111), and a plurality of remote power control target boards(117,118). The control system boards(101,106,119) control the whole system generally, and send remote power control signals for the remote power control target boards(117,118). The back board(111), receiving the remote power control signals and supplying power to associated remote power control target boards(117,118), comprises a pull-up logic part and a power supply logic part. The pull-up logic part, composed of a plurality of pull-up logics(112,113), generates a logic value to supply power to a corresponding remote power control target board when a remote power control signal, outputted from a control system board, is not in a tri-state. The power supply logic part, composed of a plurality of power supply logics(115,116), supplies power to the corresponding remote power control target board according to the logic value generated from the pull-up logic part. |
